Capital city of France and setting for several stories in The King In Yellow – author Robert W. Chambers lived and studied here (at the École des Beaux-Arts, and Académie Julian) between 1886 and 1893, and this clearly fed into his depictions of the city and its inhabitants, particularly the artistic community, in his stories. Orson Wantage died here. Location of the Paris Commune and the Latin Quarter.
