Subsection of The Prophets' Paradise, featuring the clown and Death, comparing their beauty on the basis of the pallor of their faces. The significance, if any, of the 'Green Room' itself is never disclosed, although it may refer to the theatrical green room (see also Theatre). It may be connected in some way to The Green Door. It inspired the poem Alone.

The Clown, at the time of Robert W. Chambers' writing of the King in Yellow, was inextricably and irrevocably linked to Pierrot and Pierrette. This is therefore a reference once again to lost love, heartbreak, sadness and ultimately death. The confimation of this of course is that Death is speaking to the Clown in this short poem.
