Albert Wilmarth having corresponded with Henry Akeley, travels to Vermont to investigate the strange events that followed the floods of 1927. He is assisted and menaced by Noyes. Documents in the Case of Elizabeth Akeley is a sequel which involves Henry Akeley and his descendants. Also mentions the city of Yian from the Robert W. Chambers story The Maker of Moons.
